Goddard Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced communications professional and leader with a passion for Internal Communications. The successful candidate will be experienced at developing communications that help drive both employee and franchisee experience and engagement to cultivate pride in the System’s purpose, priorities, and cultural values. This leader will engage with internal business stakeholders and franchisees to systematically drive a superior level of content across a variety of communication channels.


The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator – verbally, visually and in writing – and a source of creative ideas. This leader must also be knowledgeable about internal communication platforms and the social media landscape. The ideal candidate is strategic and creative, works well both in a collaborative setting and individually, quickly establishes credibility, accepts new challenges, embraces processes and deadlines, and can successfully work through ambiguity.


  • Manage a variety of national employee and franchisee communications initiatives and projects.
  • Provide support for and focus on internal communications including but not limited to advising, planning, writing, editing and other related work in support of leadership communications.
  • Create unique strategies and campaigns designed to engage employees and franchisees and to uphold Goddard’s culture.
  • Develop content for presentations, speeches and written communications for all levels of the organization, including the CEO.
  • Produce and manage detailed project execution plans for internal communication programs and events.
  • Curate content, including news articles and photography, for employee intranet.
  • Create an internal communications style guide, standards, best practices and templates that employees and franchisees can leverage.
  • Lead and mentor a team using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis and promote a culture of diversity, inclusiveness and belonging, high performance, and continuous improvement.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English or Communications required.
  • 8+ years of related communication and/or writing experience in a corporate setting or a franchise system.
  • Experience working with C-suite executives.
  • Experience managing and building a team.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills to influence management, employees, franchisees and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to leverage working knowledge of technology platforms, evolving communication channels, and social media tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and concurrently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Good sense of judgment and discretion in the face of challenging or sensitive situations.
  • Ideate highly creative, innovative ideas for employee communications and programs.
  • Experience building and leading a team.
  • Experience measuring the impact and ROI of communications activities.

  • Strong professional presence and the ability to partner and manage effectively at all levels are critical in this role.
  • Demonstrated track record of success delivering results and exceeding expectations.

  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office suite), with expertise in PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred.
  • Previous consumer products and/or franchise experience desired.
